Pilates is a form of exercise which emphasizes the balanced development of the body through core strength, flexibility and awareness in order to support efficient graceful movement.
What is involved in an abpilates class?
An ABpilates class may differ from other exercise programs in the sense that there is a set repertoire. After warming up, we will undertake a range of exercise tailored specifically to the client, a range of which will include abdominal, gluteal, shoulder, mid and lower back strength, as well as flexibility exercises from the whole body.
what is the difference between PILATES and yoga?
Yoga is an older discipline than Pilates and contains spiritual elements from the Hindu religion; where Pilates is more of a mind and body discipline and these days has a strong rehab and physiotherapy educated focus.
Can we work around my injuries?
Absolutely, we try our very best to work around injuries. With twenty-one years experience there isn't much we haven't seen! If we can't help, we can refer you to a specialist who will work very closely with us to aid you in your rehabilitation process.
What do I need to bring?
Comfortable Fitness, Pilates or Yoga clothes that allow for a full range of movement but not too loose or baggy as this could cause an accident.
